SC schools must use COVID relief money to make lasting changes

The Charleston Shared Future Project’s goal is to increase community understanding and support for improved educational outcomes for Charleston County School District students by 2035.

By encouraging and involving community stakeholders and constituents in taking a systemic look at the current state of education and identifying and implementing targeted actions we can create the necessary change to achieve that goal.

    This year’s election is unique in that all nine seats are up for grabs because of a legislative bill that was approved in 2020 changing the Charleston County School Board election. This law requires school board members to run in nine single-member districts, similar to Charleston County Council members, starting in 2022, instead of countywide positions.
